Throughout Treatment:
- Take Tylenol for discomfort. DO NOT take NSAIDs during the course of treatment. This will make the treatment less effective.
10 Commandments of Invisalign:
- Wear aligners at least 22-23 hours a day for the duration of your Invisalign treatment.
- Use your Munchies 10 minutes in the evening, and EVERY TIME you place the aligner in your mouth to make sure the tray is fully seated.
- Be mindful of missing buttons, as they can lead to additional trays at the end of treatment if this is not caught. (If you have bumps on the back of your top teeth please note that there will not be attachments on the teeth in these locations). PLEASE CALL US IF YOU ARE MISSING A BUTTON.
- Call our office if your aligners do not fit the same as during your initial visit or if there are any spaces between the aligner and your teeth. Tray should fit the same as it did at the initial visit, otherwise please DO NOT move forward (stay in current tray and call us).
- Call our office immediately if you lose an aligner/tray.
- Take aligners out to eat and drink anything other than cool clear water.
- If you cannot brush immediately after eating, rinse trays and teeth thoroughly with water.
- Check to see if the back of the aligner is bouncing up and down or is irritating gum tissue. If it is bouncing, you can pinch the trays from the cheek side and tongue side to fix this.
- Make sure to keep aligners in your mouth or in their case. Do not leave aligners anywhere else, this is how they get lost, destroyed by pets, or accidentally thrown away. Keep current Munchie and PUL tool in case with trays.
- Use your Munchie vibe (if you are given a vibe) at least 2x/day (on auto timer). PLEASE CALL US IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES.
**The two main factors in a successful case are wearing your trays as much as possible and fully seating your trays when they are in your mouth with your munchie. If your case also requires a munchie vibe, you MUST BE COMPLIANT WITH USE to facilitate your particular teeth movements.
