How Are We Keeping Our Office Safe From Coronavirus? Find Out!

Need a dental appointment in Simpsonville? At Pearl Dental Studio, Dr. Lindsay Cash is accepting new patients for routine appointments once again, and we’re taking every possible precaution we can to protect our staff members and our patients from COVID-19 coronavirus.

Things have changed a little bit around our office, but these changes are for the best, and will help us maintain a safe, clean, and sanitized environment for our patients. Wondering how we’re keeping our office safe for our patients and staff? Here are just a few of the steps we’ve taken.

Social Distancing & Pre-Appointment Patient Checks

We have adopted pre-appointment patient check-ins and questionnaires to help determine if a patient has had a high risk of COVID-19 exposure in the past few weeks, or has shown any symptoms of developing the virus. We will ask any patients who may have been exposed to reschedule their appointments for a later date to ensure they are free of the virus.

In addition, we have implemented social distancing precautions in our waiting room to keep individuals at least 6 feet apart. We ask that you come to your appointment alone, if possible, to reduce the number of people in our office at any given time.

Beyond this, we are also doing our best to space out patient appointments more evenly throughout the day. This provides us with more time to clean and disinfect operatories and commonly-touched surfaces, and also reduces the number of individuals in our office at once.

Additional Sanitization & Air Filtering In Operatories

We have always followed OSHA, CDC, and ADA standards for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting operatories between patients, and we will continue to clean and sanitize every surface, sanitize and disinfect dental tools, and replace plastic barriers between each patient appointment.

We have also installed advanced air filtration systems in our office which will eliminate the majority of all airborne particles that could carry COVID-19 coronavirus and other infectious diseases, further decreasing infection risk.

PPE For All Front Office & Dental Team Members

All of our front office members will be wearing PPE like masks and glasses, while our dental team members will wear PPE including face shields to prevent contact with aerosolized particles and other potential COVID-19 contamination vectors.

After use, all PPE is properly disposed of or left behind for disinfection and sanitization in the operatory where it was used, preventing the spread of potentially-contaminated equipment between patients.

Updated Infection Control Training & Best Practices For All Staff

We have recently undergone extensive infection control training at our office to equip all of our staff with the tools they need to avoid spreading pathogens between patients, disinfect PPE properly, and take other steps to avoid cross-contamination and keep our patients safe.
