Varnish Post-Application Instructions

Your hygienist applied a protective varnish on your teeth during your appointment today. To receive the maximum benefits from this treatment, please follow the instructions below following your appointment.

5% Sodium Fluoride Varnish

Benefits: delivers minerals to fortify the teeth and make them more resistant to acids and bacteria that cause tooth decay, seals tooth enamel to reduce sensitivity, protects edges of fillings/crowns

Mint/Unflavored: Do not eat hard/sticky foods or drink hot or alcoholic beverages for 30 minutes. You may eat and drink any other type of foods/beverages immediately. Any remaining residue will be easily removed when you brush your teeth this evening.

Kids' Flavors: Do not eat hard/sticky foods or drink hot beverages for 2 hours.You may eat and drink any other type of foods/beverages immediately. Any remaining residue will be easily removed when you brush your teeth this evening.

Cervitec Plus 1% Chlorhexidine/Thymol Varnish (fluoride-free)

Benefits: prevents tooth decay by targeting and reducing cavity-causing bacteria, reduces gum inflammation and bleeding, seals tooth enamel to reduce sensitivity, protects edges of fillings/crowns

Do not eat or drink anything for l hour (cool, clear water may be sipped if necessary) Residue-free, no need to brush the excess away

Benefits of Cervitec Plus will last up to 3 months
