The Veneers Process
The veneers treatment process typically involves three appointments at our Greenville office. During your first visit, Dr. Cash will take custom impressions of your teeth, which will be used to develop your treatment plan and sent to our trusted dental lab for the creation of your custom veneers.
At your second appointment, your teeth will be cleaned and prepared for veneer placement. Depending on your smile goals, Dr. Cash may remove a small amount of enamel to ensure a proper fit for the veneers, or she may recommend an additive approach that doesn't require enamel removal. You will also receive a set of temporary veneers to protect your prepared teeth and help you get accustomed to the feel of your new smile.
During your final appointment, Dr. Cash will assess the fit and appearance of each permanent veneer to ensure they look, feel, and fit perfectly. She may make minor adjustments as necessary. Once everything is just right, the veneers will be permanently bonded in place using dental cement, completing your treatment.

Candidates for Veneers
Are Veneers Right for Me?
If you’re dealing with multiple cosmetic issues, such as stubborn stains that whitening can't fix or small gaps that you prefer not to address with orthodontics, veneers may be the perfect solution for you. This highly versatile treatment can effectively address a wide range of cosmetic imperfections.
However, it’s important to note that veneers are not a restorative treatment and cannot fix issues like decayed or broken teeth. You may require alternative treatments, such as fillings or dental crowns, to address these problems before getting veneers. Additionally, veneers may not be suitable if you have crooked teeth or an improper bite.
Schedule a consultation with Dr. Cash today to find out if veneers are the right option for you! We proudly serve the Greenville and Five Forks communities.
Are Dental Veneers Permanent?
How Long Do Veneers Last?

Dental veneers are a permanent solution, and the procedure is not reversible. However, it’s important to note that veneers do not last forever; typically, they last between 10 to 15 years. If your veneers become worn over time, they can be replaced, so feel free to give us a call if you think you may need a new veneer.
If you believe you’re a good candidate for veneers, please call to schedule an appointment. Our office is located at 117 Batesville Road Suite 202 Simpsonville, SC 29681.
Benefits
of Veneers
Veneers are an excellent solution for addressing a variety of cosmetic issues with your teeth, including:
- Tooth discoloration
- Gaps in your smile
- Small teeth
- Oddly shaped teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Teeth that are too sharp
Veneers completely cover your natural teeth, allowing you to achieve your perfect smile almost instantly. While a small amount of tooth enamel must be removed to prepare for veneers, this process is minimally invasive and painless, ensuring no damage to your teeth.
Once bonded, veneers effectively replace the missing tooth enamel, providing added strength to your teeth. Best of all, porcelain veneers look and feel just like natural teeth. Unlike teeth whitening treatments, which may only last a few months, veneers maintain their bright appearance for the long term.
With a lifespan of up to 15 years, veneers are also stain-resistant. After receiving your veneers, you'll likely feel so pleased with your smile that you'll want to protect it. Many patients find themselves investing more in their oral hygiene routines and becoming more diligent about attending dental cleanings after enhancing their smile.
How Long Does It Take
for Veneers to Settle?
Since the preparation process for veneers involves shaving down your natural tooth enamel by about 0.5 mm, it may take some time to adjust to your new veneers. During the first two weeks, you might experience sensitivity and slight discomfort, but this will subside over time.
You may also find it challenging to pronounce certain words, and chewing may feel unusual or different as your bite adjusts. To help alleviate discomfort during this adjustment period, we recommend using toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth, avoiding extremely hot or cold foods and drinks, opting for soft foods, and maintaining good oral hygiene.
Additionally, rinsing your mouth with a lukewarm saltwater solution can help reduce swelling and pain. Aim to drink room-temperature beverages, as overly sweet or spicy foods can trigger sensitivity just like hot and cold items.
Are Veneers
Painful to Get?
The veneer placement process is designed to be comfortable, as we use a local anesthetic to numb your mouth before we begin. You won't feel any discomfort while we shave down your enamel, and the numbness will last for several hours after the procedure.
Once the anesthetic wears off, you may experience minor sensitivity or different sensations than you’re used to, but this will subside over time. Taking anti-inflammatory pain medication can help alleviate any discomfort, and we recommend avoiding hard, crunchy, or sticky foods for the first few weeks.
If you grind your teeth, it’s essential to wear a mouthguard at night to protect your veneers and prevent jaw pain.
