The Veneers Process
The veneers treatment process typically involves three appointments at our Five Forks office. During your first appointment, Dr. Cash will take custom impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create your treatment plan and sent to our trusted dental lab for the fabrication of your custom veneers.
At your second appointment, your teeth will be cleaned and prepared for veneer placement. Depending on your smile goals, Dr. Cash may remove a small amount of enamel to accommodate the veneers or recommend an additive approach that doesn't require enamel removal. You'll receive a set of temporary veneers to protect your prepared teeth and help you get accustomed to the feel of your new smile.
During your final appointment, Dr. Cash will check the fit and appearance of each permanent veneer to ensure they look, feel, and fit perfectly. She may make minor adjustments as needed. Finally, the veneers will be permanently bonded into place using dental cement, completing your treatment.

Candidates for Veneers
Are Veneers Right for Me?
If you’re facing multiple cosmetic issues with your smile—such as stubborn stains that whitening can’t fix or small gaps you prefer not to address with orthodontics—veneers may be the ideal solution for you. This highly versatile treatment can effectively address a wide range of cosmetic imperfections.
However, it’s important to note that veneers are not a restorative treatment and cannot resolve issues like decayed or broken teeth. You may need alternative treatments, such as fillings or dental crowns, to repair these issues before getting veneers. Additionally, veneers are not suitable for crooked teeth or improper bites.
Schedule a consultation with Dr. Cash today to find out if veneers are the right choice for you! We proudly serve the communities of Simpsonville and Five Forks.
Are Dental Veneers Permanent?
How Long Do Veneers Last?

Dental veneers are a permanent solution, and the procedure is irreversible. However, this doesn’t mean that veneers last forever; in most cases, they can last between 10 to 15 years. If your veneers wear down over time, they can always be replaced. So, if you think you might need a new veneer, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
If you believe you are a good candidate for veneers, please schedule an appointment with us. Our office is located at 117 Batesville Road Suite 202 Simpsonville, SC 29681.
Benefits
of Veneers
- Tooth discoloration
- Gaps in your smile
- Small teeth
- Unusually shaped teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Sharp or jagged teeth
By completely covering your natural teeth, veneers allow you to achieve your ideal smile almost instantly. Although a small amount of tooth enamel needs to be removed to prepare for the veneers, this process is minimally invasive and painless, ensuring that your teeth remain undamaged.
Once bonded, veneers effectively replace the missing tooth enamel, providing added strength to your teeth. Plus, porcelain veneers look and feel just like natural teeth. Unlike teeth whitening treatments, which can fade in just a few months, veneers maintain their bright appearance for the long term.
With proper care, veneers can last up to 15 years and are resistant to staining. After receiving your veneers, you’ll likely feel so pleased with your smile that you’ll want to protect it. Many patients find themselves more committed to their oral hygiene routines and diligent about attending dental cleanings after investing in their smile.
How Long Does It Take
for Veneers to Settle?
The preparation process for veneers involves removing about 0.5 mm of your natural tooth enamel, which means it may take some time to adjust to your new veneers. During the first two weeks, you might experience sensitivity and mild discomfort, but these sensations should diminish over time.
You may also notice that pronouncing certain words feels different, chewing might seem unusual, and your bite may feel altered. To help ease any discomfort during this adjustment period, we recommend the following:
- Use toothpaste specifically designed for sensitive teeth.
- Avoid very hot or cold foods and beverages.
- Stick to soft foods that are easier to chew.
- Maintain good oral hygiene practices.
Additionally, rinsing your mouth with a lukewarm saltwater solution can help reduce swelling and pain. It’s best to drink beverages at room temperature and avoid overly sweet or spicy foods, as they can trigger sensitivity just like hot or cold items.
Are Veneers
Painful to Get?
The veneer placement process is designed to be comfortable, as we use a local anesthetic to numb your mouth before starting. This ensures that you won’t feel any discomfort during the removal of your enamel, and the numbing effects will last for several hours post-procedure.
Once the anesthetic wears off, you may experience some minor sensitivity or unusual sensations, but these feelings should diminish over time. To help manage any discomfort, you can take anti-inflammatory pain medication. We also recommend avoiding hard, crunchy, or sticky foods for the first few weeks after your veneers are placed. If you tend to grind your teeth, it’s important to wear a mouthguard at night to protect your veneers and prevent any jaw pain.
