That’s why we are proud to introduce Pearl AI, a groundbreaking artificial intelligence platform that enhances the precision and transparency of dental care. - [Quicksplint Guidelines](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/quicksplint-guidelines/): It's important to understand that your Quicksplint appliance is a DIAGNOSTIC APPLIANCE. This appliance lets us evaluate your facial muscles, jaw joint, clenching, grinding, and possible tooth interferences with your bite. You may notice that your symptoms improve, don't change, or even worsen in some cases over the next two weeks of wear. Regardless of the response that you note, it tells us valuable information as to what may be happening in your jaw joints. - [Combination Therapy Schedule](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/combination-therapy-schedule/): For most effective pain relief, take as described above. Do not miss a dose even if that means setting an alarm. This is the maximum amount of pain medication that you can safely take in a 24 hour period. Do not exceed this dosage.New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [TMJ Protocol](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/tmj-protocol/): For the next 2 weeks, please follow these guidelines: - [Invisalign Instructions](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/invisalign-instructions/): Throughout Treatment: - [Denture Care](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/denture-care/): Denture & Partial Denture Care - [Nightguard Care](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/nightguard-care/): When placing your nightguard in at the end of the day, try to place in one hour before bedtime, so your mouth has time to adjust before sleeping. When placing your nightguard in your mouth, use your fingers to push down, fully seating it. **Do NOT bite your nightguard into place, as you are likely to break it by doing this!** Clean your nightguard every morning with plain liquid hand soap and a soft toothbrush. Avoid using the soap that has "scrubby beads" in it. **Do NOT use toothpaste, as it is too abrasive and will scratch your nightguard over time.** After brushing your nightguard, soak it in water during the day. Do not soak your nightguard in anything colored (such as denture cleaner or mouth wash) nightly, or it will gradually absorb stain. **If you desire to use a denture cleaner, please only use it once a week and let it soak for no more than 15 minutes before rinsing off in water.** Bring your nightguard with you to your dental appointments so we can verify the fit if any new dental work is performed. Keep your appliance away from pets, as they love to chew them! New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [Varnish Post-Application Instructions](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/varnish-post-application-instructions/): Your hygienist applied a protective varnish to your teeth during your appointment today. To receive the maximum benefits from this treatment, please follow the instructions below following your appointment. - [Periodontal Therapy Post-Op Instructions](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/periodontal-therapy-post-op-instructions/): This is a huge first step in improving your oral health! In order to ensure your treatment is as effective as possible, please follow these guidelines: - [Restoration Care Guide](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/restoration-care-guide/): Brushing and flossing DAILY is super important to keep your restorations clean! Please brush for 2 minutes in the morning, brush for 2 minutes at night, and floss with string floss every night before bed (our favorite is Cocofloss!). Regular flossing is CRUCIAL to extending the life of your restorations and helping to keep cavities away from forming around them. Consider adding a Waterpik to your nightly routine. While a waterpik DOES NOT replace flossing, it does flush out a ton of debris that even floss may be unable to adequately remove! We have waterpiks here should you wish to add one to your routine! You should ALWAYS be using a SOFT BRISTLED TOOTHBRUSH!!! Your toothbrush needs to be replaced every 3 months, or as soon as the bristles begin to splay. If your bristles are splaying prior to 90 days, you are brushing with too much pressure! We don't care what you choose to brush with, but our personal favorite is the Sonicare electric brush (we have them here as well as the replacement heads if you need anything!) Be sure you are choosing a LOW ABRASIVE toothpaste when you brush your teeth! We love Sensodyne! We strongly recommend using a toothpaste that contains fluoride (or nanohydroxyapatite if you choose to be fluoride free)! (We have both options available!) We strongly recommend having Fluoride or our Fluoride-free Cervitec varnish applied at the completion of your appointments with your hygienist to help keep the margins of your restorations where they meet your teeth as healthy and strong as possible. If you have been instructed to wear a nightguard, WEAR IT EVERY NIGHT! Failure to wear any appliance we have given you (including your Quicksplint!) can result in chipping or breakage of your restorations. Come in regularly for your scheduled cleanings! Staying up to schedule for your cleanings, x-rays, and exams with our hygienists allows us to thoroughly check your restorations and ensure everything is looking great! Be mindful of what you do with your teeth and DO NOT USE THEM AS TOOLS! Your teeth are perfect for smiling and chewing, but not for nail biting, cutting fishing line, opening packages, opening bottles, ect..... New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [Anterior Provisional Restoration Guidelines](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/anterior-provisional-restoration-guidelines/): AVOID HARD FOODS DURING THE PROVISIONAL PHASE. EAT EVERYTHING WITH A KNIFE AND FORK!! YES, I AM SERIOUS. Other things to avoid include Turmeric and cumin (WILL STAIN your temporaries. Be sure to check ingredients in products such as vitamins, protein shakes etc.) Use purple DenTek Proxa-Brushes 2x a day. Use your WaterPik 2x a day (start out on settings 1-2, then work your way up to 3-4 when gum tissue is not as tender). NEVER skip a night of using Proxa-Brushes and WaterPik. Hydrogen Peroxide syringes should be used to "flush” around temporaries 2-3x per day. ONE WEEK PRIOR TO CEMENTATION APPOINTMENT, start swishing with Therasol rinse for 30 seconds - 1 minute after brushing AM and PM. Your start date to switch to Therasol is written on the bottle. YOU HAVE 2 PRESCRIPTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN SENT TO YOUR PHARMACY: Magic Mouthwash and Ibuprofen 800mg Magic Mouthwash: Store in fridge; swish PRN for at least a minute before spitting out; use for gum tissue inflammation and soreness to numb it. Try to avoid eating or drinking for an hour after to get longest lasting results. Ibuprofen 800mg: Take 1 tablet every 8 hours around the clock for the first 72 hours. Use as needed for dental pain every 8 hours after the first 3 days. Try to time this so you are taking a dose right before bed and not having to wake up during the night for those first few nights to take your next dose! New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [Crown Post-Op](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/crown-post-op/): Brush twice daily as usual. Wait until tonight before flossing. You may floss normally, gently sliding the floss up and down around the crown. Avoid any sticky, chewy or crunchy foods for the next hour to let the cement get its final set. The tooth may be sensitive initially as it adjusts to the pH of the fresh layer of cement. This should get better within the next few weeks. Give yourself a few days to adjust to the new crown. If we need to make any bite adjustments, please call our office. Ensure you are coming in for your regularly scheduled cleanings and x-rays so we can maintain the health of this crown. New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [Temporary Care](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/temporary-care/): Brush normally twice a day. When flossing, please make sure when you floss around your temporary crown or bridge, that you do not bring the floss back up through your contact (where the teeth touch). This may pull your temporary off. When you floss, pull the floss out like a "thread" . Avoid sticky foods, as this may pull your temporary off. Avoid hard foods, as these foods (such as almonds, peanut brittle, etc.) may break your temporary. If your temporary comes off or gets broken, please call our office at 864-214-1440. We will need to get you in to recement and/or remake the temporary. If your temporary comes off (and it's intact/not broken) and it's a weekend or you are unable to come in, please read the instruction on the packet of temporary cement that the assistant gave you and put the temporary back on. New Patients and Emergency Appointments Welcome Book Online864-214-1440 - [Extraction  Care](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/extraction-care/): Wound Care: - [TUMS & Ibuprofen Protocol](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/tums-ibuprofen-protocol/): One of the main reasons patients may have difficulty getting numb is dehydration. Starting 4 days before your dental appointment, please ensure you are drinking half your body weight in ounces of water. For example, if you are 200 pounds, you must consume 100 ounces of water a day for the 4 days leading up to your dental appointment! Starting 4 days ahead of time ensures your body has enough time to flush out all the toxins and give you some time to adjust so you aren’t using the restroom every 5 minutes (which will happen when you first start consuming water if you are chronically dehydrated!) Also- please note we are asking you to drink pure water...... not coffee, tea, soda, or carbonated water...... PLAIN WATER!!!! Being adequately hydrated ensures that your numbing medicine isn’t neutralized by your body too quickly, ensuring you have a comfortable dental treatment appointment! - [Technology](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/technology/): At Pearl Dental Studio, we believe exceptional dentistry starts with precision, insight, and your comfort. That’s why our office features state-of-the-art technology designed to enhance every part of your visit—from early diagnosis and clear communication to precise treatment and an overall superior experience. - [TMJ/TMD therapy](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/tmj-tmd-therapy/): TMJ/TMD is a prevalent condition affecting many Americans each year. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort in your jaw, you may be dealing with TMD. TMJ stands for the temporomandibular joint, while TMD refers to the dysfunction of this joint. The TMJ connects your jaw to your skull, allowing you to speak, eat, chew, and laugh. When TMD occurs, it can interfere with these everyday activities. - [Teeth Whitening](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/teeth-whitening/): } - [Privacy Policy](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/privacy-policy/): In order to receive information about your Personal Data, the purposes and the parties the Data is shared with, contact the Owner. - [T-Scan](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/t-scan/): At Pearl Dental Studio, we utilize the T-scan device to objectively assess a patient’s occlusion, commonly known as "the bite." Unlike traditional bite paper, which only identifies tooth contact, the T-scan measures both the force and timing of the bite. This advanced tool is vital for evaluating the effectiveness of jaw function. - [Smile Makeovers](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/smile-makeovers/): Your treatment will always start with a comprehensive cosmetic consultation with Dr. Cash. During this session, she will discuss your specific needs, take X-rays and images of your mouth, and examine your teeth to determine the best treatment options for you. - [Sleep Apnea](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/sleep-apnea/): Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that affects millions of people around the globe, causing your breathing to repeatedly stop and start during the night, which disrupts both your rest and overall health. If you're experiencing sleep apnea, the caring team at Pearl Dental Studio in Five Forks, SC, led by Dr. Lindsay Cash, is here to assist you. - [Services](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/services/): Learn More - [Dental Veneers](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/greenville-sc/dental-veneers/): The veneers treatment process typically involves three appointments at our Greenville office. During your first visit, Dr. Cash will take custom impressions of your teeth, which will be used to develop your treatment plan and sent to our trusted dental lab for the creation of your custom veneers. - [TMJ/TMD therapy](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/greenville-sc/tmj-tmd-therapy/): TMJ and TMD are prevalent conditions that affect many Americans each year. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort in your jaw, you might be dealing with TMD. TMJ, or the temporomandibular joint, connects your jaw to your skull, allowing you to speak, eat, chew, and laugh. When TMD occurs, it can interfere with these simple, everyday activities. - [Teeth Whitening](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/greenville-sc/teeth-whitening/): Teeth stains are a natural part of life. As we age and enjoy beverages like coffee, tea, and wine, or consume dark-colored foods like berries and tomatoes, stains can accumulate on tooth enamel. Lifestyle choices such as smoking or chewing tobacco can further contribute to discoloration. Even if you avoid these habits, the natural aging process can still leave your teeth looking dull. - [Sedation Dentistry](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/five-forks-sc/sedation-dentistry/): The primary reason many patients opt for sedation is dental anxiety, which studies indicate may affect up to 20% of Americans. In severe cases, this anxiety can prevent individuals from receiving even basic dental care, such as cleanings and oral exams. - [Technology](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/greenville-sc/technology/): At Pearl Dental Studio, we believe exceptional dentistry begins with precision, insight, and your comfort. That’s why our office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to elevate every step of your visit—from early diagnosis and clear communication to treatment accuracy and overall experience. - [T-Scan](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/greenville-sc/t-scan/): Precision Bite Evaluation Using T-Scan At Pearl Dental Studio, we use a T-scan device as an objective tool to evaluate a patient's occlusion, commonly known as "the bite." Unlike traditional bite paper, which only indicates tooth contact, the T-scan measures both the force and timing of the bite, providing essential insights for assessing occlusion. This technology is crucial for evaluating the strength and function of the jaw. Patients undergoing orthodontic treatment or multiple dental procedures that alter jaw positioning may be at risk of developing TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Syndrome. While bite paper can check for contact points, it does not assess the muscle relationship between the upper and lower jaws. For patients experiencing jaw issues or those at higher risk of developing such problems after dental procedures, a T-scan assessment may be necessary before, during, or after treatment. At Pearl Dental Studio, we utilize the T-scan for all patients following orthodontic services to ensure accurate and precise jaw positioning. Your jawbone serves as the architectural support for your entire lower face. When you lose teeth, you lose more than just your ability to chew; you lose the biological stimulation that keeps your jawbone dense and strong. Over time, this lack of stimulation leads to bone resorption, a process in which the body begins to reabsorb minerals from the jaw, causing the face to appear collapsed or sunken. - [Veneers Mauldin: Your Guide to a Transformed Smile](https://www.pearldentalsc.com/veneers-mauldin-your-guide-to-a-transformed-smile/): Looking for veneers in Mauldin, SC?
